Christianity is for the naive and the childish!

“They feel uneducated, which they are, often rather stupid, which they are, inferior, which they are…” - Richard Dawkins, atheist superstar, commenting on Christians’ views about evolution. Read the entire interview here.

In a very different sense than Mr. Dawkins meant, true Christians are ready to agree!

Matthew 18:3Matthew 18:3
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

makes it very plain that there is a certain characteristic that is critical to entering the Kingdom of God. No man can be saved until he exhibits the spirit of the child that the Saviour is speaking of here. The Saviour is insisting upon simple, child-like, naive, believing, unquestioning obedience of His word. This is how a sinner is saved and we become part of the Kingdom of Heaven. The child of God is one who has come to recognize that all he thought he knew as a sinner was mere folly without the knowledge of God. The converted sinner now knows that, while in sin, his mind was disordered, his thinking perverse and deranged because it was all exercised in opposition and hostility to God. In that sense, much of what he thought and knew prior to knowing Christ was rank stupidity and folly. The Christian recognizes that not until his thinking prowess is entirely subjected to the revealed will of God in His word that he can become wise unto salvation.

For the most part, men refuse the gospel because it degrades their cleverness! They will feel it an insult to their intelligence to believe in God and believe the Bible. For this reason many atheists are ready to speak of God being for the unintelligent and the foolish as Mr. Dawkins does in the citation above. The educated don’t need God! In intellectual pride and evolutionary self-confidence, sinners refuse the gospel of Christ and shut themselves out of the Kingdom of God and all the blessings in time and eternity that belong to those in that Kingdom who have seen themselves to be as Paul describes: foolish, weak, base, nothing! (1 Corinthians 1:26-291 Corinthians 1:26-29
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.

Are you headed for everlasting destruction because you think you are too clever to submit like a child to the teaching of Christ? Don’t be the devil’s fool – be wise and trust Christ.
